If you’ve been looking into advertising on Facebook, you probably already know that there’s two main types:
- Boosted posts
- Sponsored ads
What are Sponsored Ads?
Facebook sponsored ads are the ads that you’ve seen in your newsfeed or on the sidebar. They usually have a logo and a business name in the upper left corner, and right under the business name is the word “Sponsored”. Then there’s usually a paragraph or so, followed by a picture or video, and then a button to click on.
How Can They Help Your Business Get in Front of New Prospects?
Boosted posts use only a small portion of Facebook’s advertising ability. Sponsored ads, on the other hand, offer an incredibly powerful tool to marketers.
Sponsored ads use the Facebook Ads manager. In the manager, you start by choosing from over ten different options for your objectives. These include everything from building brand awareness, to traffic, to generating leads.
You can then target your audience. You can choose from options like location, gender, age, and interest, or you can create a custom audience based on your business.
These options sound simple, but targeting is what will help your business get in front of new prospects. Changing who you target will change who sees your ad.
After that you build the ad by entering your ad copy, an image or video, and then a call to action.
Then it’s time to run your campaign and get your business in front of new potential clients!
